I just couldn't take any more…

Can't take much more of this, Wolves and Blackpool are winning as I write and today's Guardian says it will cost £3.5 million to sack Avram Grant. If we go down and get rid of AG then that's £7 million or so squandered on removing Zola and Avram. So looks like we'll have to learn to love Avram whatever happens as we can't afford to fire him…

Meanwhile Matty Etherington is at Wembley... and we're desperately hoping Birmingham lose their final two matches and we win by hefty scores and Blackpool and Wolves cock it up in the final minutes.

Nurse, the screens.

Pete, I am certain AG is gone. And we have no idea if he has a clause allowing much lower compensation if we go down. Regardless, they will but their losses and fire him. I am sure of it.

Anonymous is right, Average G is as gone as our chances of surviving. See you in the North Stand tomorrow....

Argh...the inevitable strikes- taunted by the false dawn after 45 minutes of BBC 5 Live commentary, which even briefly saw me having warm thoughts about Fulham.

Then back down to earth -and back down to The Championship or whatever it’s called- it’s still Division 2 /the second tier, whatever designer frocks they try to dress it up in.

Not a good weekend to be a WHU follower then- highlighted for me as I live in Manchester and it showcased the extremes of football.

Mind you, the Hammers’ road back from Wigan Pier can’t have been much of a picnic ..

Still, we have been here before and I am confident we can bounce back- as long as Collision, Sears and their ilk don’t go, as the Board throw babies out with the Dyer and co. bath water.

Off to buy my 442 Big Match dvd and memories of those endless 1970s relegation battles we usually won...

COYI (please?)

If only life was always like The Big Match, Chrissy… Brian Moore getting over excited, Trevor Brooking with sideburns, West Ham winning... yes, let's give the hungry young kids a chance. Too many of our current players know they'll get a move regardless of relegation...
