We are mathematically safe, I said we are mathematically safe!
Phew! Thanks to last night's draw between Sunderland and Stoke West Ham are safe, as Sunderland and Southampton still have to play each other. If Sunderland lose they can only finish on 41, while if Southampton lose they can only finish on 42. If it's a draw then Sunderland can only finish on 42. So all we have to worry about is not owning any third party players or going into administration and we should be safe...

Pete, do NOT tempt the gods. If I wake tomorrow and find out that Pogatetz is actually from Romania, has a fake drivers license and was once a member of The National Front thus allowing for a ten point deduction I will hunt you down.
Pete, in the real world it is not conceivable that a top flight team could get into serious trouble over third party ownership, is it?
Talking of which, that whole sorry saga hasn't done the Blades much good in the long run, has it? And if Wigan get relegated as well...
Quite right USA Dave, if we can find a way of plucking relegation from survival I am sure we will. Though Brentford and Wolves must take credit for inventing new methods of torturing their fans that even West Ham would struggle to emulate... whoops, I've tempted fate again
