It's not the despair I can't take...

West Ham 0 Cardiff 1

Bugger! just stayed up till one o'clock Pacific time to read West Ham conceding the winner with the last kick of the sodding game. Sounds like we created nearly all the chances and hit the post, then Ilunga was at fault at the end. Not sure why the substitutions were left so late? Meet the new boss, same as the old boss?

Get Faye and Carew in quick. Should have stayed in bed. Or chucked a coconut at the computer screen.

Confirms it's going to be a bloody difficult league to get out of...

I don't think we need to press the panic button just yet. I thought Taylor, Tomkins and Reid played really well & we were unlucky not to score at least one. Illunga did ok until his lapse. Sears failed to impress & Iooked out of his depth. Still this is proof, were it needed, that it is going to be a tough season......

That's reassuring to know. Hopefully Reid will find his level in the Championship and Big Sam certainly seems to think we played well. A fit Ilunga would be a boost if he can regain the form of two years ago, while Taylor looks a fine buy. Just have to stop snatching defeat from victory.

Will be back in September to witness it first hand...
