Ravel with a cause

Quite a week for Ravel Morrison. He's followed his goal against Spurs with a wonder chip in training for England Under-21s and then two more in the game against Lithuania, the second another stunner. So it's almost a relief that he's got in a bit of trouble too, having an argument with Wilfried Zaha when the Man United winger wanted to know why he wasn't passing to him. Norwich's Steve Redmond had to separate the pair after Ravel pushed Zaha. It's proof to his suitors that Morrison is not yet the finished item and hopefully the incident will give Ravel something to ponder too. Probably the worst thing that can happen for West Ham is if Roy Hodgson picks Morrison as a wildcard for the World Cup and he has a great tournament, alerting the world's biggest clubs. Hopefully Big Sam will insist to Roy that he's nowhere near ready for the World Cup… even if he really is.

The real Ravel revealed?

Good to see Ravel Morrison get a couple of goals in the 3-2 win at Sporting Clube de Portugal last night, the second a cracking long range strike. He played 27 times and scored three goals in the Championship for Birmingham last season and made three cup appearances, so he now has a full season behind him. City watchers also praised his work rate after some initial problems with Lee Clark, so it seems like he's maturing as a proper player. And remember he was supposed to be the most gifted player to arrive at Man United since Paul Scholes, so let's hope he fulfils that potential in E13.

Is Morrison unravelling?

Several papers report that Birmingham manager Lee Clark has lost patience with the poor attitude of Ravel Morrison in training and is on the point of trying to end his season-lomng loan deal. Ravel has only started one game for Birmingham so far, on the first day of the season. Interestingly Morrison himself tweets, 'Good morning everyone hope use (sic) all have a good day today and ignore the stuff in the paper about me its NOT one bit true : ) xx' Let's hope it is all untrue, because you wouldn't want to be Morrison facing Big Sam having been returned to sender.

Don't Twitter, Ravel

He's in trouble already. The FA is investigating Ravel Morrison over a homophobic comment made on Twitter, since deleted. You sense this won't be the first moment of controversy in Ravel's West Ham career...
