£31m bid for Batshuayi?
Meanwhile the Guardian claims that West Ham have offered £31m for Marseille's Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi. I'm not sure we should be offering that amount of money for one player, even if the 22-year-old Batshuayi has scored 16 goals for Marseille this season in Ligue 1. We managed to pick up Payet for just £10 million and Leicester paid very little for Vardy, Mahrez and Kante. Claudio Ranieri surely has it right when he says he doesn't want superstars, but players who will fit in with Leicester's team ethic and maybe West Ham should be thinking the same way. If he's the next Luis Suarez or Lionel Messi then fine, but paying that sort of money is always a gamble.
