Jenkinson joins
West Ham have signed right-back Carl Jenkinson on a season's loan from Arsenal. Seems like a good move to me as he's only 22 and I recall him having a decent game against us at Upton Park (though most players do). In all Jenkinson has played 37 times for the Gunners, scoring once, and he's also picked up one England cap. He'll be faster than Guy Demel and with Cresswell at left back we should have players young enough to play the wing back role if necessary. Jenkinson, who started his career at Charlton, is also an Essex Man, having been born in Harlow. Wikipedia informs us that his mum is a Finnish/Swede and he is one of the few Premier League players to be trilingual. Not many West Ham players can claim to be trilingual (unless James Tomkins or Nobes have hidden talents) and he must be our best linguist since Slaven Bilic.

Yes, he was certainly good at English when he had a stint in our ticket office! Think Bilic spoke three or four
