Not drinking at O'Neil's?
I'm a little disappointed to see Gary O'Neil on WHU's list of released players. He was outstanding towards the end of last season in a new holding role and kept Mark Noble out of the side. O'Neil was the star man in season-changing results at Stoke at Liverpool. Though apparently the club might still come to some kind of late agreement. Can see why the club might be offering reduced terms as O'Neil's had a career-threatening injury and is now three years older, but I would have thought he is the sort of squad player we need to keep.

Seriously he's a championship player to slow and weak
Agree with Anonymous, not a premier league player.
Agreed, he's a good player, not a great one but he put in a shift when we needed him to fill Noble's role and did a good job for us. Not the future of this club tho....
I didn't rate him that much until he started playing in Noble's position and suddenly he looked a much better player. And I think he's a decent sub to bring on to see a game out. Depends who we replace him with, but as cover he can play all across the midfield, so would have been worth another year I'd have thought, as Nolan. Noble and Diame all had injuries at some point.
