Pards on the Tyne?

Rumour is that Pards could be taking over at Newcastle. Good manager, rubbish chairman. And we all know how they love cockneys on Tyneside...

If Andy Carroll leaves or gets banged up could it end up with a scenario where West Ham are fighting it out with Newcastle to survive on Salvation Sunday?

I reckon we could, there are some stroppy sods in that dressing room very unhappy with Hughton's sacking.

Talking of cockneys, did you see Flash Harry Redknapp's Time Out interview? "We used to drink a lot! We'd be in the Black Lion in Plaistow half past five on a Saturday before the fans had even got of the ground. And it would be buzzing. The barmaids were good-looking girls, the music would be going. Always went out in the East End; we never went to the West End. There was a pub called the Blind Beggar up in Whitechapel, owned by two brothers, Patsy and Jimmy Quill, good friends of all the footballers. We'd be kicked out at 11pm but there'd always be a party at someone's after."

I am sure there was something else vaguely familiar about the Blind Beggar, also involving brothers...

I wonder if old Harry would go and visit the Elephant Man, tucked up in London Hospital too?

I'm sure there's an Iain Dowie joke there...

'Arry met his missus at the Two Puddings pub in Stratford, he claims. Those were the days...
