Andy Carroll needs time to get back to his best
Quite a lot of criticism of Andy Carroll on social media after the Everton game. Think we need to remember that he was up against the best young centre back in the country in John Stones and he is recovering from a long-term injury. Andy's still the same player who scored against Chelsea and he's only had two full games so far. He's not had a pre-season and I'd expect us to see the best of him after half a dozen or so matches. It will take time to recover his sharpness. Sakho doees look a more mobile option up front, but there's no reason Carroll can't get a lot of game time this season and as Bilic recently said, when he gets in certain situations, as he did against Chelsea, he can be unstoppable.

If we have to play him we need to provide something for him to attack, also do we need 2 up front at home?
Could be a case for two strikers sometimes as AC was isolated against Everton. Payet would have swung in some decent crosses but guess it is now down to likes of Moses and Cresswell to give Andy something to attack with his head…
How long after we given him so far, on his return last year before Christmas we had to change our style to accommodate him, and our form dropped, same again this season, his is on the top salary at the club, as I said how long do we keep waiting, what I do know is he has no sell on value at all!
He just doesn't look the player he was... He has clearly had to curb a lot if the physical aspects of his game that made him often unplayable. Payet getting injured will further reduce the type of quality service he needs. Still as you say early days after a long lay off.....
