Is Julien 'Gustave' Faubert now one of our key players? It's interesting that Faubert has now made 99 appearances for WHU, leaving him as our fourth most senior pro, behind Cole, Noble and Green.
The great French novelist come utility man certainly looks a better player this season, after being alienated by Grant. In the summer he looked certain to go with the rest of the dead wood. But he scored against Leicester and made another goal on Saturday with a cross for the winner and looks much happier under Big Sam, who preferred him to O'Brien at right-back. You could say he's no longer as sick as Faubert's Parrot.
Can't see that he was ever worth £6 million, but could Julien, at the age of 28, finally be starting to play to his potential?

Are you kidding yourself. He was injured when we bought him, and rubbish when he first played and has never improved, one goal and 2 good crosses in 99 games is a poor return for 6 mill, get rid of the garlic breathed in January.
I think Fuabert has had a really rough time. He never really settled, injured, out to loan and mostly playing out of position. He bough as an attacking right winger and instead he's been playing right back, which he is not good at. But the guy still seems to try at that position.
Clearly the malaise of AG's reign hit him hard. I really think now he is being properly managed, has a positive mind frame and getting back to playing RW, I think the TGV may fly again.
He's disappointed for several seasons, yes, but he's been one of the better crossers in the team this season. On the evidence of this season he's done ok... although admittedly the Championship might be more his level. Allardyce appears to have had some sort of effect on JF so far and obviously rates him. So don't think we should give up on him just yet.
Possibly just found his level now? However I have to say his speed and work rate this season have impressed me.
Bon Qui as Delboy would say
