Good to visit the Newham Bookshop and see Vivian and John again. London's best indie bookshop is at least getting some trade from the new residents of the flats on the site of the Boleyn Ground and has survived lockdown through some very generous online purchases by book lovers from around the world. My latest book What Are Words Worth?, a writer's diary featuring plenty of West Ham references, is now on its hallowed shelves.
While the Newham Bookshop still has its customary selection of West Ham literature, including new releases They Played With Billy Bonds: The West Ham Years by Tim Crane and The Boleyn's Farewell by Danny Lewis. We might not be going there for match day reading anymore, but if you live locally then please do go along and support the shop.
